SWAIP is a network of European higher education institutions working towards educational development in the field of arts, well-being and social inclusion. The consortium has developed a new study programme aiming to train artists to work with social inclusion in their artistic projects. The goal is to introduce students to art’s abilities to make connections, facilitate well-being, empowerment and strengthen self-confidence. Emphasis is on training flexible and sensitive artists, capable of relating to advanced ideas and finding new roles in the constant changing society.

In this webinar about the SWAIP Erasmus+ project (2018-2021), we celebrate the findings of the process and introduce a new study programme, expected to launch autumn 2022 at the Iceland University of the Arts. The goal of the SWAIP study programme is to introduce students to art‘s abilities to make connections, facilitate well-being, empowerment and strengthen self-confidence. Emphasis is on training flexible and sensitive artists, capable of relating to advanced ideas and finding new roles in the constant changing society.

SWAIP project

The aim of the SWAIP project (2018-2020) was to develop curricula for a postgraduate study programme for artists and pedagogues who work within areas of social inclusion with vulnerable groups of people.

SWAIP Curriculum

The educational aim of the SWAIP curriculum is to provide knowledge, skills and understanding for students about a range of interdisciplinary arts practices that have the potential to aid interpersonal connections, facilitate well-being and empowerment while strengthening self-confidence.

SWAIP Resources

The aim of the SWAIP resources is to build an interdisciplinary structure of knowledge. This is a dynamic project that will be continuously developed by SWAIP students and staff.
